Who We Are
We are trained volunteers with the University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program; our mission is to extend the ability of the local Cooperative Extension office to provide practical, scientific horticulture and gardening information to the citizens of Santa Clara County. Learn more on the statewide Master Gardener website.
We're actively involved in the community, providing services including:
- Hotlines, accessible by telephone, email or drop-in.
- Public emailed newsletter with topical gardening tips and events.
- Read the latest Master Gardener column originally published in the San Jose Mercury News.
- Speakers bureau to extend our involvement in the community with talks at community centers and libraries.
- Adult Education classes that teach sustainable gardening techniques for home landscapes and orchards, including in-depth classes on vegetable gardening.
- KKUP's (91.5 FM) Old Time Farm and Garden Show is presented the 4th Thursday monthly from 10:00 AM to noon. Hosted by Master Gardeners, the public is encouraged to call (408) 260-2999 with gardening questions and listen to visitors on gardening topics.
