- Fall Vegetable Plant Sale! -- Visit us at the Harvest Festival on October 3, 10 am to 4 pm at Prusch Farm Park, 647 South King Road, San Jose for our annual sale of cool season vegetables. October is a great time to plant broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, lettuce, peas, spinach, beets, chard, kale and other greens. Learn more on our Event page.
- The Loma Prietan, a publication of the local Sierra Club chapter, recently featured master gardener Susan Zaslaw. The article talks about the ins and outs of vegetable gardening.

- We are pleased to announce new Warm and Cool Season Vegetable Planting Guidelines that explain when to seed and when to plant various vegetables year round. There is a PDF version for printing too.

- There's still a quarantine due to the light brown apple moth in portions of Santa Clara County. Visit the Santa Clara County web site for more information. Residents are asked not to move plants or produce from their home gardens within the quarantine area.

Becoming a Master Gardener
Are you interested in becoming a Master Gardener? The next application process will be in summer of 2010. If you:
- are a Santa Clara County resident who would enjoy sharing gardening knowledge, and
- want to learn more sustainable gardening practices,
then you might be a good fit for the program. If you think it sounds interesting, learn more about the process and call us to be notified about information meetings for the 2011 class.
