NUMBER OF DAYS FROM SEED TO FIRST FLOWER
OF SOME MARIGOLD CULTIVARS

The marigold cultivars listed here were greenhouse seeded April 3, 1985, transplanted to standard six pack containers April 8-11, moved outdoors for hardening off April 23, and field planted May 3. The number of days to flowering was determined by counting the days from seedling until a majority of the plants of the cultivar displayed a fully opened flower. This information, though derived subjectively, should provide useful guidelines to use when making landscape plantings for specific dates.
*Cultivar had not reached flowering stage (according to the guidelines stated above) by the 99th day.
