What will be at our sale this year? How about......

Not sure what tomato and pepper plants are right for you? Feel free to ask for help from one of the Master Gardeners in the sales area.

If you’re interested in sharing your gardening results, be sure to read about our public trial varieties of tomatoes and peppers.

It's not JUST a plant sale!

Have questions about other plants in your garden? Helpful Master Gardeners stationed at the PLANT CLINIC TABLE will be available to answer your tree-, shrub-, lawn-, and flower-related questions.

We will offer for sale an assortment of BOOKS published by the UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA PRESS, including the Master Gardener Handbook, an outstanding garden resource.

Tomato cages

Back by popular demand, we’ll be selling NESTING TOMATO CAGES. These cages are made from concrete reinforcement wire, stand 5’ high, and will give your vigorous tomato plants the support they need during the growing season. You can purchase them individually or as a nesting set of three that can be stored easily. These cages will last year after year. The price is $12.00 each or a set of three for $30.00.

The GREEN ELEPHANT SALE, our spectacular garden-related rummage sale, is a great place to find bargains on items you never knew you needed.

If you like to shop, be sure and visit the VENDORS who will be selling tools, pots, garden decorations, soil amendments, hats and clothing, specialty plants, and other garden-related merchandise. (NEW! List of vendors.)

We are honored to have two distinguished San Jose Mercury News favorites to answer your plant questions – HOLLY HAYES, Home & Garden Editor of the Mercury News and NANCY GARRISON, frequent garden columnist and retired coordinator Santa Clara County’s Master Gardener Program.

Mini-seminars Return!

We will again be offering our popular mini-seminars every half hour beginning at 10 am. The seminars will be held under the oak tree – just follow the signs. Topics include:

  • Care and feeding of your tomato plants
  • Growing giant tomatoes in your backyard
  • Water-wise alternatives to lawns
  • Designing containers: thrillers, spillers, and fillers
  • Tool sharpening techniques
  • Raising chickens at home

To encourage you to stay with us longer, we will offer a free PLANT CHECK IN AREA where you can securely leave your purchases in our care while you attend seminars and visit the vendors. So…
